Getting Married on the Boat

Here’s How Elope by Boat Works

Secure your date by booking here. You get the boat, captain/officiant, ceremony, celebratory toast and the fun certificate and chart add-ons mentioned above. Total on-the-water time is approximately 1 1/2 – 2 hours. Base price for this trip is $550.
Want to make it extra special with some added time for fun activities like fishing or snorkeling? Send a message to the captain when you book (or beforehand) and we’ll discuss your ideas and associated price. You can also check the schedule for popular package pricing.
We’ll likely discuss departure time and the on-the-water ceremony location more than once before the trip date. The marine forecast for weather and sea conditions will determine the best options for the type of trip, so have alternative ideas in mind in case a quick plan change is needed. It’s good to discuss this with the captain in advance so there’s no stress on the big day. Since the forecast can and does change frequently, we’ll discuss how to best be prepared for the most enjoyable experience, including what the backup plan will be in the case of bad weather.

You will receive some ideas via email or text with options for vows that can be customized to suit your preferences. It can be as easy as just saying “I do” all the way to writing your own vows that you share with each other.
Pick-up location is Stock Island Yacht Club, 6000 Peninsular Ave., Key West, Florida, 33040. You can get directions here. If you are staying in the Key West area without a vehicle, there are plentiful options via Uber, Lyft or taxi to get to the marina.
The captain will share photos taken during the trip with you so you can in turn share the moment with family and friends. Be forewarned – there may be some crazy fun things the captain suggests to make those photos more entertaining for sharing!
Most importantly, make sure you have your marriage license before the trip date! You can find all the info you need on Florida Keys weddings on the Monroe County website. If you are coming from out-of-state to get married, there is no waiting period once you get the marriage license.
